Food for thought.

If you hang around with people on the far right long enough (exact time varies with how many PBRs consumed), you will come across the argument that many on the left are anti-American. You will then hear stories and examples of how they consolidate their power via elitist, left-leaning universities.
Of course, if you hang around with people on the left (again time varies based on the amount of PBRs consumed) that the right is just a bunch of knuckle dragging troglodytes who hate education and free thinking.
Is either side correct? Who knows, but the New York Times did a piece today that highlights this undercurrent under the guise of the Middle East debate. Academics are decidedly split into very, ugly camps. The story focuses on recent issues with Columbia University and Iran, but in reality this is a long-running issue.
Food for thought.
