The Heat Wave

Ok, this is just a rant today about the heat. While we are generally good natured about the weather, this is going a little far. It is June and it is hotter in Minnesota than it is in Atlanta. Think about that. It is hotter in America's tundra than it is in a place known as Hotlanta. It is so hot that CNN is running stories on the heat.

What happens when it gets hot? People get angry. Why? Because of the heat makes them uncomfortable and they often to try to beat the heat by drinking alcohol. It is never a good combination. Actually, combine heat, alcohol and a bad economy and things good get pretty ugly soon. Expect those stories soon to be all over cable news. Fights due to the weather.

So why does heat take precedence over tornado ravaged areas of the South and Midwest? Over wars in foreign countries? Over the budget? Because the heat is felt (literally) by everyone. It's a story on the news because it isn't a story in reality. It is life.

Sigh, with all the important things going on out there, it appears the heat wave is king.
