A Good Start?

It's usually not a good thing when a newly minted governor comes into the state's main legislative body and requests $120 million in cuts, but in South Carolina yesterday, it may have been the best thing.
According to the State, Gov. Nikki Haley said while she is proposing cuts, she said she will need the help of all state lawmakers in making those decisions. It was a welcome start, and the response was actually pretty good from lawmakers. After eight years of relations between the governor's office and the State House ranging from open hostility to tepid detente, it appears the first day of the Haley era has started strong.
It's a good start.
