Our prayers to OSU
Two members of the Oklahoma State University athletcis department -- women's basketball coach Kurt Budke and assistant women's basketball coach Miranda Serna -- died over night in a plane crash while on a recruiting tip.
While every and all sudden deaths carry an element of tragedy, this one strikes a nerve for several reasons. The first being that eight people associated with the men's basketball team died in a plane crash almost 11 years ago. Terry Don Phillips was the school's athletic director at OSU at the time and now serves the same role at Clemson. He is a good friend of us here at Brett. Several times he has talked to us about the 2001 tragedy that rocked the school. We have seen how it hurts him.
