Boxes of Love Packing Day
WHO: Boxes of Love volunteers and Greenville Connect
WHAT: Packaging of Boxes of Love for Thanksgiving distribution
WHEN: Saturday, November 19, 2011; 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
WHERE: Carolina Machine & Tool, Inc.
300 Industrial Drive, Greenville
WHY: Boxes of Love, an outreach project coordinated through Greenville Connect, offers churches and agencies a way to connect with area residents and families in need by providing food during the Thanksgiving holiday. More than 6,000 people will be served this year. Each organization, or distributing entity, offers its neediest area residents flyers that can be redeemed for a box of food at that church or agency. Each “Box of Love” contains all the trimmings of a complete holiday meal for a family of six. The Publix at Thornblade was a key sponsor by selling food at a discounted rate. Volunteers will pack the boxes at Carolina Machine & Tool at 300 Industrial Drive in Greenville starting at 7:30 a.m.
