People who are publically backing John include Vivian Wong, managing director of Pacific Gateway Capital Group; Bob Castellani, founder of North American Rescue Products; Dean Anderson, retired chairman of Leslie Advertising; Andrew Cajka, president of Southern Hospitality Group; Jon Wilken, former chief executive officer at Bi-Lo, co-owner and co-manager of the Point Development and CEO of HS Pharmaceuticals; Dean Cohagen, former president and chief executive officer of Bi-Lo; Lynn Faust, president of the The Faust-Boyer Group of Raymond James & Associates; Henry Harrison, chairman of American Services Inc.; Leighton Cubbage, Serrus Capital Partners; Dr. John Piccione, of Rocky Creek Dental; Bill McLellan, Sr., former Clemson athletic director; Bill McLellan, Jr., owner and president of Recover Inc.; Dana Sullivan, former Greenville County Councilman; Mac Whittle, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Carolina First; Wayne Holcombe, president and chief executive officer of Pepsi-Cola of Greenville and Florence; Ann Burgess, chairwoman of Southeastern Products; the Rev. Ken Forrester, pastor of Rocky Creek Baptist Church; Toby Dix, pastor at Renewal Church, and Dan Herren, Republican State Executive Committeeman.

“I am very humbled and honored that these successful business leaders have pledged their support to stand behind me,” Symons said. “There is a commonality they all share. We need business people making decisions – not career politicians.”

Symons is a former Bi-Lo executive vice president of sales and operations where he managed a more than $4 billion budget and was responsible for more than 40,000 employees in seven states. He led the acquisition and integration of numerous stores into the Bi-Lo brand while also helping to lead the way in building new stores, helped revitalize the famed “Walter” campaign for Bi-Lo’s produce department, helped cut turnover rate of employees and streamlined processes that saved millions of dollars for the company each year.

Symons is running for the vacant State House 21 seat because he wants to improve South Carolinians’ way of life through economic development, eliminating waste in state government and improving our education system for the future of our children.
