Today's Puzzler

Several news agencies have reported today that the relatively new chief of G.M. -- Edward E. Whitacre -- is stepping down after the company posted its best quarter in more than six years.

That makes him the fourth president to leave the company in the past two years, according to the New York Times. That's a heck of a lot of turnover, but Whitacre explained his decision this way.

"I believe we've accomplished what we set out to do," he told the Times.

His soon-to-be successor, though, sounded unintentionally unsure when he told the Times he had a lot of work to do.

Insert question mark here.
